Work plan & security

Work plan

  • The work on the building will start from the top floor and progress downwards floor-by-floor.
  • The contractors will start by putting a capping rail around the top of the building.
  • Rails will be fixed to the outside of the building and the new windows are hung from these rails. The windows will cover the entire façade. This will be done on a floor-by-floor basis.
  • When the outside work for the floor is complete, the contractors will start on the interior. All work to be done internally will be done after hours. Contractors will start at 6pm until 6am the next morning.
  • Firstly, screening will be put up to isolate the work from the offices. Then the old windows will be removed and new windowsills will be installed.
  • The work will be done in sections a couple of window sections at a time. The estimated timing is one month per floor. The work will be done in sections to limit the impact on individuals.

Security

Security plans has been designed by the project managers in conjunction with the building manager.

A foreman will be appointed for each floor. He will supervise all work on the floor.

The contractors will supply a list of all the workers for each floor.

This list will contain the worker’s name and ID.

The workers will be clearly identified with a security identity card.

Tenants will receive the list of workers for their area.

A detailed security plan will be published here.

This plan will be discussed and finessed in consultation with affected tenants nearer the time.
